Saints get late goal to sneak by Anderson 1-0
North Georgia wins second straight
Dahlonega, GA - North Georgia College &
State University grabbed a 1-0 win against Anderson University at
the 2008 Laker Shootout at Clayton State Friday afternoon off a
Terry Gibbs goal in the second half.
Throughout the first half the game remained scoreless.
Anderson University outshot the Saints in the first half 11 to 3
and overall in the game 19-9.
In the second half, the Saints got on the board when Terry Gibbs
scored on a pass from Joey Rector off a free kick in the 70th
minute. The Saints held onto the lone goal of the game and
went on to win 1-0.
North Georgia Goalkeeper Rade Tanaskovic played all 90 minutes and
had 8 saves.
The Saints return to action on Saturday evening at 5:00 pm in the 2008 Laker Shootout against Belmont Abbey.
