Huntsville, AL - North Georgia College & State University won their fourth game of the year Friday night at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, making a first-half goal stand up for a 1-0 victory in front of a standing room only crowd at Charger Field.
North Georgia (4-2) finally puts a lid on a six-game road trip to start the season and do so in winning fashion, using a Calvin Cook goal in the 2nd minute of the contest which proved to be all the Saints would need. Bradley Rose and Chris Griffith each tallied their first assists of the season with the game-winning goal.
In front of a raucous crowd of nearly 400, Rade Tanaskovic stole the show, fending off five shots on goal, including a header just before the close of the first half which he deflected straight up in the air, allowing the Saints' defense to clear the ball and preserve the one-goal lead.
North Georgia only attempted one shot on goal, but Cook's shot on goal proved to be enough, finding the back of the net to give the Saints another road win and send the squad back to Dahlonega for their home opener which is set for Wednesday afternoon against Lees-McRae College at 5:00 p.m.
