DAHLONEGA, Ga. – North Georgia College & State University took a scoreless game into the half but fell 2-0 to UNC Pembroke here Saturday evening at the North Georgia Soccer Complex.
The Braves got on the board in the 71st minute when Bernd Hipp sent a deflection past Saints’ goalkeeper Brandon Kirksey to take a 1-0 lead.
Just four minutes later in the 75 minute Mason Peacock sent a header into the back of the net off a free kick from Hipp for a 2-0 lead that would prove to be the final score.
Dean Moore recorded seven saves for the Braves while he Saints’ Kirksey stopped six shots for the Saints.
UNC Pembroke was out-shot 18-15 by the Saints but recorded two more shots on goal.
