DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia College
& State University Athletic Department is sad to announce that
Jeremy Bouasy was killed in a single automobile car accident
Saturday evening in Cornelia, Georgia. Bouasy was 24 years old.
Bouasy was found Monday morning after not reporting to work, and
the sad news was passed along to the North Georgia athletic
department.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bouasy
family,” head men’s soccer coach Pat Parris said after
hearing the news. “You will be missed and forever in our
hearts and thoughts. As you always say: Bless and Be
Blessed! I know that you will be watching over all of us in a
much better place.”
Bouasy played three seasons for the Saints, scoring 18 goals and
adding 15 assists, playing a single year in the NAIA before leading
North Georgia into the NCAA. The Habersham, Ga., native was named
SSAC Second-Team All-Conference in 2004, and earned Peach Belt
All-Conference honors in 2006 after scoring eight goals and adding
two assists.
“Jeremy was a terrific young man,” Athletic Director
Randy Dunn said. “I firmly believe that everyone that knew
Jeremy will remember him as a very enthusiastic, spirited, and
happy person.”
Bouasy holds North Georgia career records in points, while sitting
at the top of individual season records in goals, shots, and shots
on goal.
“Jeremy's wonderful smile and great attitude will be just a
few of the things I will always remember about his life, Dunn said.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Jeremy's family, friends,
and teammates during this difficult time.”
Visitation for Jeremy will be Thursday and Friday evening from
6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Whitefield Funeral Home in Demorest, Georgia.
The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the
Presbyterian Church in Cornelia.
