DAHLONEGA, GA - Men's soccer freshman Manuel Hernandez has been named the Moe's Southwest Grill North Georgia Athlete of the week after leading the Saints in scoring over the past week.
Hernandez scored two goals in the dominating 6-2 victory over Alabama-Huntsville on Wednesday along with adding an assist. He scored the first of his two goals on a header that got the scoring going for North Georgia. Hernandez added another late in the game to pad the stats.
At Montevallo on Saturday, Hernandez scored the only goal of the game for the Saints. His lone goal was not enough as they fell 2-1.
Hernandez leads his team in points with nine, along with scoring four goals. The freshman from Venezuela has been key to the attack for Pat Parris and his Saints this season.
North Georgia travels to Columbus State on Saturday for a neutral site match against Lincoln Memorial. Hernandez will look to lead his team in hopes of bouncing back from back-to-back losses.
