As a team captain, he set the single-season school record for the most assists in a single season which capped off him setting the school record for most assists in a career ... During his senior and freshman campaigns, the squad claimed the Region 6 5A crown and made it to the finals of the state championship ... During his junior season, El-Shami's team was the region runner-up following two region championships ... Equally strong in the classroom, he was named to the honor roll all four years.
