DAHLONEGA, GA – The regionally ranked North Georgia men's tennis team suffered a 5-4 defeat on Saturday afternoon to 12th-ranked Flagler College at the Yahoola Creek Tennis Complex in Peach Belt Conference action.

The Saints fall to 6-8 overall on the season and 0-7 in the Peach Belt Conference, while Flagler improves to 8-4 overall and 6-1 in league play.

North Georgia was impressive early, taking a pair of the doubles matches and leading 2-1 heading to singles play. After dropping No. 1 doubles, the Saints rallied with a 9-7 victory at No. 2 doubles, followed by an 8-6 win at No. 3 three doubles to take the lead.

Mateus Camasmie and Giovani Santos then took care of business in singles play to give North Georgia a commanding 4-1 lead, but the Saints were unable to pull off another victory and Flagler came storming back to grab the 5-4 victory.

The Saints return to action on Sunday afternoon, welcoming 2nd-ranked Armstrong Atlantic to town for another Peach Belt Conference match at the Yahoola Creek Tennis Complex. First serve is set for 12-noon.
