HARKERSVILLE, SC - The North Georgia men's tennis earned their first win of the season on Wednesday afternoon as they defeated Coker 6-3 at the Coker Tennis Courts.
In the first meeting between the two schools since North Georgia joined Division II, the Saints (1-1) handed Coker (1-1) their first loss of the season.
At No. 1 doubles, Camasmie and Guida held on for 8-6 victory over Leonardo Lima and Manel Estruga, while Farinas and Gantt cruised to a perfect 8-0 win over Ricardo Perez and Jeremy Curtis.
Camasmie, Guida, Farinas and Gantt would finish the day a perfect 2-0 each as the winning ways continued in singles action as all four of North Georgia's victories came in straight set fashion.
At No. 1 singles, Camasmie raced past Lima 6-2, 6-3, while Guida defeated James Corfield 6-3, 6-3 in No. 2 singles.
At No. 5 singles, Farinas defeated Perez 6-2, 6-0, while Gantt easily handled Curtis winning without surrendering a single.
Thus far both Camasmie and Farinas have won all four their matches in singles and doubles action.
The Saints return to the courts tomorrow when they travel to North Carolina to take on Pfeiffer University at the Knapp Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
