MARS HILL, N.C. – The University of North Georgia men's and women's tennis teams both defeated the Mountain Lions of Mars Hill College Wednesday afternoon. The 23rd-ranked men (3-2) won 9-0 while the women (1-5) claimed an 8-1 victory over the Southeast Region opponent.
For the women, Mars Hill was able to claim a victory at No. 1 doubles, but the Saints swept the rest of the matches from the Mountain Lions. Cameron Williams and Adalyn Hazelman combined to win 8-2, the same score for Audrey Marlette and Nela Handac in their doubles match at No. 3.
Both North Georgia teams will next travel to Savannah, Ga. to take on PBC foe Armstrong Atlantic State University on Saturday, Mar. 2. The Pirates are ranked No. 1 in the nation in both men's and women's tennis. From there, the Saints will travel to St. Augustine, Fla. to take on Flagler College on Sunday, Mar. 3.
