SKILLMAN, N.J. – The University of North Georgia men's tennis team, ranked 30th-nationally, fell to 10th in the first Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Region rankings of the regular-season released Wednesday. But the Saints (7-6, 1-6 PBC) also saw some improvements individually.
Senior Felipe Friedrich jumped up into the top-10 in the region in singles action, checking in at No. 9. He is 10-3 at No. 1 singles this season, including having won his last five matches.
Friedrich and doubles partner Matheus Guida are now ranked sixth in the Southeast Region as a doubles tandem. The duo is 10-3 for the season, including having won the last seven matches, and have signature wins over the No. 10 and No. 11 doubles tandems in the nation.
Both the North Georgia men's and women's squads will have close to a week off to rest before their final road match of the current road swing. The Saints will next play Newberry College in Newberry, S.C. on Tuesday, Mar. 26 in a 2:00 p.m. dual match.
