ANNISTON, AL – The North Georgia College & State University Rifle team picked up their first victory of the year over the weekend, going head-to-head with Wofford College and defeating the Terriers by 48 points.
At an event that featured only the air-rifle event, North Georgia held four of the top five individual scores to come away with the victory, accumulating 2,228 total points, while Wofford walked away with 2,144 points.
North Georgia's Matt Parsons claimed the top overall score, shooting 96 in four of the six rounds for a match-high 576 points. Teammate Tori Kostecki was just 15 points behind Parsons, averaging a 93.5 for six rounds for 561 points. Thomas Pifer finished third overall for the Saints, logging 549 points, while Becca Bryan was fourth on the team and fifth overall, posting a personal best with 542 total points.
The Saints return to action for their second SEARC event of the year on October 3, for a 9:00 a.m. start on the campus of The Citadel.
