Parsons Posts Win for Rifle Team, Duncan Takes 2nd

FORT BENNING, GA - Senior Matthew Parsons won the first match of the season for the North Georgia rifle team held at Fort Benning, Georgia, this past weekend. Parsons 563/600 performance led him to a strong first place finish.

Parsons was followed by fellow teammate and freshman Luke Duncan, who finished with a 559. Wofford shooter Josh Mangan finished third with a 551.  In their first NCAA match against Wofford College, North Georgia finished solid with a 2206 compared to Wofford's 2145.

With Parsons and Duncan leading the way, North Georgia captured a first-place team finish. The Saints shot 2212 to beat Clemson (2183), Wofford (2145), and Georgia Military College (2016).

Jason Crawford shot a personal record 541 as well. After the match during the finals action, freshman Chris Tiller shot a spectacular 99.9 for the highest individual finals total posted.
