FORT BENNING, GA - The North Georgia rifle team broke five school records during the team's match against Columbus State and the University of Memphis over the weekend.

The matches were hosted by the US Army Marksmanship Unit in Fort Benning, Georgia. The only previous school record that survived the day was head coach Tori Kostecki's individual air rifle record set when she was a member of the team.

Cadet Matt Parsons set both a new personal and school individual record in the smallbore three position match. He was joined by Cadet Chris Tiller, Luke Duncan, and Jason Crawford in accomplishing the new team record.

Team Captain Becca Bryan set a new personal record in the standing air rifle match in leading the team. Joining her for the new school team record were Parsons, Duncan, and Tiller.

The aggregate scores (smallbore and air combined) resulted in a new school aggregate score individual record for Cadet Parsons, and a new school aggregate score team record.

Though the Saints finished in third place in the competition, they were very close to both Columbus State and Memphis, two tough non-conference teams, as the Saints continue to show improvement.

"I am really happy with the team's performance and with everyone's continued improvement throughout the season," head coach Tori Kostecki said. "The team was able to stand up against a couple of strong opponents and performed quite well."

The Saints rifle team will return to action in January to complete the regular season, when they host a home match with Columbus State, they will then compete for the conference championship.
