CHARLESTON, S.C. – The North Georgia College & State University mixed rifle team traveled to nationally-ranked Citadel for the third Southeastern Rifle Conference tournament of the season on Saturday, Nov. 10 where they earned a split decision with the host teams.

In NCAA competition, North Georgia defeated the Citadel women by a strong 43-point margin – 2279 to 2236 – while just missing the win over the Citadel's men's squad by a thin eight-point margin – 2287 to 2279. Finishing behind NGCSU were Wofford College and the University of Alabama Birmingham. In conference competition, the Saints also defeated Clemson University and Georgia Military College.

North Georgia was led by freshmen Casadie Bragg, Cadet Kyle Bailey, Sara Howell, and sophomore team captain Cadet Luke Duncan. Also contributing were sophmore Chris Tam and freshmen Cadet Ryan Moran.

In the individual competition, Bragg continued her dominating breakout streak as she set another school record and won the competition with a very strong 589/600. Cadet Bailey is coming up rapidly within the team and posted a strong score to finish seventh in a very tough field with 573/600.

This is the sixth competition in a row where Bragg has equaled or exceeded a personal record and is the third in a row where she has set a new school record.

North Georgia returns to action this coming Saturday, Nov. 17 when they travel to the US Army Marksmanship Unit at Fort Benning, Ga. to compete against Columbus State University and Memphis State University, both nationally ranked.
