North Georgia Defeats Virginia Military In Mixed Rifle Action
DAHLONEGA, Georgia – (UNGAthletics.com) – The University of North Georgia rifle defeated Virginia Military Institute on Saturday in a meet at UNG's COL Raymond C. Hamilton Shooting Range. The Nighthawks were victorious both events winning the overall event by 59 points (4,481 to 4,422) highlighted by a 53-point victory in the air rifle competition.
In the air rifle portion of the competition, UNG secured the top four places led by Casadie Bragg's score of 577. Ruthanne Conner finished runner-up with a 569 score followed by Kyle Bailey (568) and Luke Duncan (565).
Conner capped a strong day with an individual victory in the small bore competition with a score of 561. Bragg was third a 556 while Chris Tam posted a personal record score of 543 to finish sixth in the 20-shooter event. Duncan finished seventh just a single point shy of Tam at 542.
Bragg was the aggregate champion with a score of 1,133.
North Georgia returns to action on November 2 with a SEARC event at Wofford College.
