UNG Rifle Team Grabs Pair Of First Place Finishes At SEARC Air Rifle Event At Wofford
SPARTANBURG, South Carolina – (UNGAthletics.com) – The University of North Georgia rifle team posted a pair of first place finishes on Saturday at a Southeast Air Rifle Conference event hosted by Wofford College. The Nighthawks took solo first in the NCAA portion of the contest and tied for top honors in the SEARC competition with The Citadel.
In the NCAA standings North Georgia collected 2,246 points and finished 17 points clear of The Citadel's mixed team. Ruthanne Conner and Kyle Bailey each tied for second place with a score of 567. Casadie Bragg earned an eighth place finish after scoring a 560. Chris Tam recorded North Georgia's fourth score with a 553.
In the SEARC standings, UNG and The Citadel finished with an identical score of 2,247 as both teams defeated Wofford (2,207), Clemson (2,142) and Georgia Military (2,138).
North Georgia returns to action November 9 with a home event at the COL Raymond C. Hamilton Shooting Range on the Dahlonega campus.
