Saints Set to Open 2009 Season Next Month
The North Georgia Softball team will open the 2009 season on
February 14th against Mars Hill College at the new Haines &
Carolyn Hill Stadium. The stadium will feature 225
stadium-style chairback seats and a state of the art press box.
The Saints enter the 2009 season with high expectations after
finishing 2nd in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament and runner-up
in their first ever appearance at the NCAA Division II Regional
Tournament. The Saints finished the season ranked 12th in the
NFCA Division II polls.
Last season, the Saints posted a mark of 38-15. Head Coach Mike
Davenport returns for his 9th season, after accumulating his 300th
win during the 2008 season.
