Courtney McGuire Tabbed as PBC Player of the Week
AUGUSTA, GA – Junior Courtney McGuire has
been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week after
hitting .400 last week with four home runs and 12 runs batted
in.
Courtney McGuire had a career week at the plate over the last six
games, hitting .400 with four home runs, including a grand slam,
notching 12 runs batted in, and scoring 10 runs.
The junior started the week against Augusta State with her only
hit of the doubleheader coming on a home run. She then erupted
against Eckerd in a pair of games, going 4-7 with eight runs batted
in, two home runs, including a grand slam, and four runs
scored.
Against Flagler, she had three more hits, drove in three more
runs, scored twice, and launched another home run, her fourth of
the week.
McGuire currently leads the Peach Belt Conference in runs scored
with 32, home runs with 8, and runs batted in with 28.
The Saints are currently ranked 5th in the nation, sitting at 22-2
overall and at the top of the Peach Belt Conference standings at
2-0, having won 14 straight games. North Georgia will play
conference rival USC Aiken in a doubleheader on Tuesday evening,
before making their way to West Georgia for a pair of games on
Thursday afternoon.
