Sarah Phillips Named PBC Pitcher of the Week
AUGUSTA, GA – Sophomore Sarah Phillips
has been named the Peach Belt Conference pitcher of the week after
dominating Tusculum last week in a doubleheader sweep, tossing 9.0
innings of three hit ball while striking out 12.
Phillips picks up her second career weekly award from the Peach
Belt after being named pitcher of the week on February 12th of last
season.
Sarah Phillips picked up both victories in a doubleheader sweep
over Tusculum last week, tossing a complete game three-hit shutout
while striking out 10 in game one, and coming in relief to pick up
the win in the nightcap.
Overall, she pitched 9.0 innings, facing four batters over the
minimum, recording 12 strikeouts and not allowing a run or a walk.
Phillips is 6-1 on the year with an earned run average of 1.83 to
rank third in the Peach Belt Conference.
