DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia softball team will
host its fifth annual Cancer Awareness Day on Tuesday afternoon as
the No. 1 team in the nation welcomes Columbus State to town for
Peach Belt Conference doubleheader.
The Saints, ranked No. 1 in the country for the fifth straight
week, will look to take a step closer to claiming their second
straight Peach Belt Conference regular season title on Tuesday
afternoon as the Cougars come to town for a pair of games set to
start at 2:00 p.m. on the campus of North Georgia College &
State University at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium.
North Georgia and Columbus State will take a few minutes before
the first game to honor those who taught us to fight and recognize
those who continue the fight against cancer. The softball program
would also like to invite anyone currently fighting cancer to
participate in a brief on-field ceremony between games.
2010 Cancer Awareness t-shirts will be available at the stadium
for a $10.00 donation to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Foundation. All proceeds will go to cancer research and
finding a cure.
All Proceeds from Cancer Awareness Day 2009 will go to the Susan G. Komen For the
Cure Foundation.
