DAHLONEGA, GA -
The weather patterns have changed once again as head coach Mike
Davenport has altered the weekend schedule that includes the
cancellation of games against Alabama-Huntsville for the third time
this season.
Just when it appeared that the much anticipated match-up between
the top-ranked Saints and 6th-ranked UAH Chargers was finally going
to be played, a late storm cell started developing and is set to
arrive in the Dahlonega area on Thursday afternoon. The
doubleheader between the two rivals has now been cancelled for the
third time this season and will look to me rescheduled at a later
date. The two teams are still set to battle on Tuesday afternoon in
Huntsville, Alabama.
With more rain set to hit the area on Sunday, the Peach Belt
Conference doubleheader against Georgia Southwestern has also been
altered, moving the games to Friday afternoon with first pitch for
game one set for 3:00 p.m.
Wednesday afternoon, North Georgia (29-0) garnered the No. 1
ranking for the fourth straight week in the NFCA Division II Top 25
Poll, making the Saints the nation's unanimous top team and the
only NCAA Division I or Division II team still unbeaten on the 2010
season.
