ST. JOSEPH, MO
– The North Georgia softball team had a packed schedule on
their first full day at the NCAA Division II College World Series,
as the Saints are less than 24 hours from their first-round game
against Molloy College.
The Saints departed their hotel Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m.
Central Standard time for a two-hour practice at Heritage Park, the
site of the National Championships. Upon arrival, North Georgia was
given one hour of practice on the game field, followed by another
hour on a practice field.
After a B-B-Que lunch with the other seven teams in the
championship, North Georgia traveled to a nearby park for a
two-hour clinic with local children. The Saints ran four offensive
clinics, followed by an autograph session where tickets to the
tournament were given to the participants.
This evening, North Georgia will travel to the NCAA National
Championship banquet where teams will be recognized and the NFCA
will unveil the 2010 Division II All-American team.
North Georgia will play the first game of the tournament on Thursday at 12:00 pm. Central Standard Time, taking on the East Super Regional winner Molloy College out of Rockville Centre, New York.
