Williams Slugs Her Way to Athlete of the Week Honors

DAHLONEGA, GA - Ansley Williams has been named the Moe's Southwest Grill North Georgia Athlete of the Week after hitting .583 over the weekend in four games at the Limestone Saints Invitational.

She tallied seven hits, six runs scored, one double, one triple, and two home runs. Williams put together a 1-for-3 performance in the weekend opener against 20th-ranked California (pa.), leading off the game with her second home run of the season.

She then recorded two hits against the University of Charleston, including a triple and a home run as the freshman scored two more runs.

Two hits in each of the last two games of the weekend capped a seven-hit performance as the Cartersville, Ga., native had a slugging percentage of 1.333 and an on base percentage of .643 in four games.

Williams and the Saints return to action next weekend, traveling to the Mid South Classic for six games in three days. The Saints will open the weekend with last year's NCAA Southeast Super Regional participant and 17th-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne as the Saints oppose their 5th ranked team of the 2011 season.
