Softball Set to Host 6th Annual Cancer Awareness Day

DAHLONEGA, GA – The 4th-ranked North Georgia softball team will host its sixth annual Cancer Awareness Day on Tuesday afternoon as the Saints welcome Georgia College to town for Peach Belt Conference doubleheader.

The Saints and Bobcats will battle in a pair of games on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium.

North Georgia and Georgia College will take a few minutes before the first game to honor those who taught us to fight and recognize those who continue the fight against cancer. The softball program would also like to invite anyone currently fighting cancer to participate in a brief on-field ceremony between games.

2011 Cancer Awareness t-shirts will be available for $10.00 at the stadium courtesy of Campus Connection, Your University Bookstore, with all proceeds and donations going to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

Last year, the event raised $905.07, which was donated to finding a cure. All Proceeds from Cancer Awareness Day 2011 will go to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation.
