AUGUSTA, GAJessica Coan has earned PBC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second consecutive week to start the 2012 softball season, announced this afternoon from the conference office.

The senior has been just short of perfect to start this year off, with an ERA of just 0.16, simply incredible. Coan has pitched in 43 innings to lead the team, starting in five games while appearing in nine of the team's 10 games played.

The native of Duluth, Georgia, has thrown four complete games and has struck out a Peach Belt-leading 67 batters.

She has allowed just one earned run and boasts a 5-1 record on the season. In the only game she lost (1-0 to Barry) the run that scored was not earned.

Coan has only surrendered 16 hits all season long and has only walked nine batters. She is averaging over 10 strikeouts a game.

Last week Coan threw a no-hitter in the first game of a doubleheader against Mars Hill in a 6-0 win on the road. She struck out 10 Mars Hill batters and only allowed two base-runners all game.

The reigning National Pitcher of the Year prepares for Belmont Abbey on Wednesday before heading to Florida this weekend to take part in the ESPN-Disney Citrus Classic.

You can watch the back-to-back PBC Pitcher of the Week on ESPN3 Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. when she leads her Saints against the top-5 ranked Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M.
