DAHLONEGA, GA – Rain moved in as the North Georgia Saints and the UNC Pembroke Braves got ready to start the top of the fourth inning and did not stop, forcing the Saints third consecutive Peach Belt series postponement.
Game one of the doubleheader was put under a lightning delay at approximately 1:50 pm, and the game was called off about an hour and fifteen minutes later.
The games have now been rescheduled for Thursday, April 12, at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
When game is resumed on April 12, the Saints will be leading the Braves 2-0 as they head into the top half of the fourth inning. The Saints put their two runs on the board when Hilary Cox smacked one right back up the middle to score Karlie Gillam and Taylor Merritt.
The Saints will hope the rain stays away because they are scheduled to take the field again on Saturday, April 7, against the Augusta State Jaguars in another PBC doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 12:00 noon at The Hill.
Saturday is also Cancer Awareness Day and Family Day at Haines and Carolyn Hill Stadium. There will be a cookout on the grounds along with a chance to donate money for cancer awareness.
