DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The updated schedule for the Catawba College Invitational softball tournament was released Friday afternoon. The fourth-ranked University of North Georgia softball team will now play four games from Sunday, Feb. 24 through Monday, Feb. 25 including tournament-host Catawba.
The Saints, which hold a 4-1 record all-time against Catawba, will renew their rivalry with the Indians in an 11:00 a.m. game on Sunday on Field 1. North Georgia will then play the University of Massachusetts Lowell at 1:00 p.m. and close out the day with a 5:00 p.m. contest against East Stroudsburg University.
The Saints will play their final game of the weekend at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25 against Shippensburg University. North Georgia has never faced the latter three teams.
Catawba is currently 8-5 for the season while Shippensburg, East Stroudsburg and UMass Lowell are scheduled to open their 2013 campaigns at the tournament this weekend.
The Raiders of Shippensburg and the Warriors of East Stroudsburg both compete in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) while the Riverhawks of UMass Lowell are members of the Northeast-10 Conference.
