Marble Named Peach Belt Preseason All-Conference
Augusta, GA – North Georgia’s Syretha
Marble has been named to the Peach Belt Preseason All-Conference
Team announced this afternoon by the league office. Marble is the
only player in PBC history to be named to the team in consecutive
years.
Marble finished the 2007-08 season averaging 20.6 points per game
and 10.1 rebounds per game and was one of only two players to
average a double double in the Peach Belt Conference. She was named
PBC All-Conference, First-Team All-Region, and Third-Team
All-American.
Marble finished last season ranked 12th in the nation in scoring
and 24th in rebounding and had 17 double-doubles to her credit,
including a 26-point and 13-rebound performance in the
quarterfinals of the PBC tournament. She was a two-time PBC player
of the week of the week last season, and is a defending PBC
Preseason All-Conference award winner.
Now beginning her senior year, the Canton, Ga., native was named
the 2006 PBC Freshman of the Year and is seeking to become a
four-time All-Conference performer in 2008. She is also just 99
points away from cracking the PBC’s top 10 career scoring
list.
