PEMBROKE, NC – North Georgia College
& State University placed four Lady Saints in double figures,
but fell 71-59 at UNC Pembroke Saturday afternoon in Peach Belt
The Lady Saints trailed by 28 early in the second half, but rallied down the stretch to come up a dozen points short.
North Georgia shot 37.7 percent from the field, 26.1 percent from behind the arc and fell short in the rebounding battle 41-34.
The Lady Saints committed 23 costly turnovers, but North Georgia forced the Braves into 22 turnovers of their own.
Meredith Montgomery led the Lady Saints with 15 points, while Syretha added a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. Whitney Randolph chipped in 14 points of her own, and Krystyn scored in double-figures with 13 points, including going a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.
JaToya Kemp led all scorers with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Marquena Delk tallied 11 points on 5-8 shooting.
North Georgia (3-9, 0-5 PBC) returns to action on Wednesday, January 14, hosting Columbus State at 5:30 p.m.
