AUGUSTA, GA – North Georgia women’s
basketball standout Whitney Randolph has been named the Peach Belt
Conference Player of the Week announced this afternoon by the
league office.
North Georgia may have dropped both games at the FSC/Holiday Inn
Classic in Lakeland, Fla., but that doesn't take away from
Randolph's amazing 26 point, 10.5 rebound per-game average at the
event which earned her All-Tournament honors.
The senior began with 16 points and eight rebounds against Saint
Leo, and then exploded for a career-high 36 points with 13 boards
against host Florida Southern. She hit 13 of 21 shots, including 2
of 4 three-pointers, against FSC for the 36 points, the highest
single-game total in the PBC this season.
For the week, Randolph hit 63% from the field and 73% from the
line, and is Currently fourth in the PBC in scoring and third in
rebounding.
The Lady Saints return to action on January 4, 2010, hosting
Augusta State University in North Georgia’s first Peach Belt
Conference game of the season. The Lady Saints are 10-13 all-time
against the Lady Jags.
