AUGUSTA, GA – Janyce Ealey has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week announced on Monday afternoon from the league office.
Ealey had two double-doubles in three games for the Lady Saints last week, averaging 19.7 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per outing. The PBC weekly award is the first for the Carrollton, Ga., native in her sophomore campaign at North Georgia.
She began with a 16-point, five-rebound effort against Truett-McConnell then exploded for 24 points with 10 rebounds against St. Augustine's College. She finished with 19 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, eight of those offensive, against Trevecca Nazarene.
The 2010 PBC Freshman of the Year shot 53-percent (23-43) from the field and added 1.7 assists per game. Ealey is currently sixth in the Peach Belt Conference in scoring and has now cracked the top-10 in rebounding in a tie for the 10th spot.
Ealey and the Lady Saints will have two weeks off for final exams before returning to action on December 13, welcoming Reinhardt College to town for a non-conference matchup.
