Howard "Pulls Down" Moe's Athlete of the Week Honors

DAHLONEGA, GA - Jessica Howard has been named Moe's Southwest Grill's North Georgia Athlete of the Week after breaking not only North Georgia's Division II record for rebounds in a game, but also the Lady Saints' All-Time record for rebounds in a game the Sports Communictions Office announced on Monday afternoon.

Howard tallied a total of 50 rebounds in last week's three Peach Belt Conference games against Montevallo, Flagler and Armstrong Atlantic where she pulled down 21 and 24 rebounds in two of the contests.

The sophomore broke North Georgia's Division II record set by Rachel Jolley in 2006 of 20 rebounds on Monday evening where she pulled down 21 rebounds, including 16 defensive rebounds in the win over Montevallo.

Howard was back on the boards again in Wednesday evening's game against Flagler, pulling down 24 rebounds where she broke North Georgia's All-Time record previously set in 1983 at 23 by Lori Brown.

Howard and the Lady Saints return to action on Wednesday evening, traveling to Georgia College for an in-state battle against the Bobcats. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. in the Centennial Center.
