Lady Saints 6th at Midway of PBC Tournament

PINE MOUNTAIN, GA – The North Georgia
women’s golf team is in sixth place after the first round of
the inaugural Peach Belt Conference women’s golf tournament,
rounding out the field at the Callaway Gardens Lake View
Course.
Flagler College is holding a slim two-shot advantage at the midway
point of the tournament, firing a 49-over-par 333 for the clubhouse
lead, while UNC Pembroke shot a 51-over-par 335, and Armstrong
Atlantic is third with a 54-over-par, sitting five shots off the
lead.
The University of Montevallo leads the bottom half of the
standings at 55-over-par with an opening round 339, while Columbus
State is at 87-over-par, and North Georgia is in sixth place
overall at 139-over-par with a 423.
Flagler’s Kaitlyn Edwards and UNC Pembroke’s Katja
Dammann are tied for the individual lead with seven-over-par
78’s, while Armstrong Atlantic’s Kelly Pierce is a
single shot back with an eight-over-par 79.
Brittany Kemp led North Georgia with an 18-over-par 89 as she sits
in a tie for 17th place overall, while Charley Whitmire is alone in
20th place after her opening round 20-over-par 91.
Courtney Hall is in 27th place at the midway point after a
50-over-par 121, and Leania Bulloch is a shot back of her teammate
in 28th place with a 51-over-par 122. Ariana Stamatiou rounded out
the field in 29th place following her 61-over-par 132.
The Lady Saints and the rest of the Peach Belt Conference will
play the final round of the inaugural PBC tournament on Tuesday
morning at the par-71 Lake View Course at Callaway Gardens.
