Women's Golf Rounds out Field at PBC Tournament

PINE MOUNTAIN, GA
– The North Georgia women’s golf team finished 6th
overall at the inaugural PBC women’s golf tournament on
Tuesday afternoon, rounding out the field on the Pine Mountain
Course at Callaway Gardens.
Flagler College, who held a first round lead, fired a 327 in the
final round to hold on for three-shot victory over Armstrong
Atlantic who finished at 96-over-par. Montevallo took third at
98-over-par, while UNC Pembroke was fourth and Columbus State
University came in fifth at 169-over-par.
The Lady Saints, who fired an opening round 423, shaved 24 shots
off their final round for a 399, the lowest round in program
history to finish at 254-over-par with an 822.
Montevallo’s Emily Gibson was the overall winner in the
first-ever PBC women’s golf championship, firing a
two-over-par 74 to take a two-shot victory over UNC
Pembroke’s Katja Dammann who notched a pair of 78’s to
finish at 14-over par. Armstrong Atlantic’s Kelly Pearce was
also recorded a 14-over-par 156 to finish in a tie for second
place.
Charley Whitmire had the low round of the tournament for the
Saints with a final round 79 to finish at 28-over-par and alone in
14the place overall. Brittany Kemp followed at 43-over-par with a
185 after an opening round 89 and a final round 96.
Leania Bulloch finished at 91-over-par with a final round 111,
while Courtney Hall finished a shot back of Bulloch at 92-over-par
with a 234, and Ariana Stamatiou rounded out the field in 29th
place overall with a 269, finishing at 127-over-par.
With the conclusion of the 19th annual PBC men’s golf
tournament, the Lady Saints cap their inaugural season of
competition in the NCAA Division II and the Peach Belt
Conference.
