CALERA, AL –
The North Georgia women’s golf team opened their spring
season on Sunday afternoon, finishing day one of the 2010 Ann
Rhoads Invitational at the Timberline Golf Club in 11th place in
the field of 11 teams.
Brittany Kemp led the Lady Saints, shooting an 18-over-par 92 as
the only North Georgia player to break 100. Charley Whitmire
followed with a 31-over-par 105, while Courtney Hall finished the
opening round at 115, and Leania Bulloch rounded out the team at
149.
As a team, North Georgia is 177-over-par, finishing the opening
round with 461. West Florida leads the event at 44-over-par,
placing a finisher in the 70’s and four more in the
80’s for a total score of 328 to clear the field by seven
strokes heading into the final round.
The final round will take place on Monday with a shotgun set to
get the action started at 8:30 a.m.
