Women's Golf Takes 2nd in Head-to-Head Affair
DAHLONEGA, GA
– The North Georgia women’s golf team put a lid on
their inaugural regular season on Wednesday afternoon, playing host
to the University of Montevallo in a head-to-head match at Achasta
Golf Club.
The Montevallo topped the Lady Saints for the second straight,
firing a 74-over-par 362 for a 40 shot victory over North Georgia
who notched a 114-over-par 402, improving 12 shots from a day ago
to once again post the best round in school history as a team.
Emma Breen had the low round of the day for the second time in as
many days, recording a three-over-par 75 to claim the victory,
while North Georgia’s Charley Whitmire was second at
six-over-par, her lowest collegiate round at 78.
Brittany Kemp was second on the club with a 10-over-par 82, while
Leania Bulloch was third at 47-over-par with a 119. Courtney Hall
was fourth on the team at 51-over-par, and Ariana Stamatiou rounded
out the team and field at 59-over-par with a 131.
North Georgia returns to action next week at the inaugural Peach
Belt Conference women’s golf tournament, as the league will
assemble at Callaway Gardens to determine a champion.
