CLARKESVILLE, GA – The North Georgia women's golf
team finished their first event of the year on Tuesday afternoon,
playing in the final round of the Piedmont College Fall
Invitational and taking 10th place in the field of 13 teams.
Methodist University ran away from the field, finishing the
tournament with a 618 and clearing the field by 25 shots. Lee
University was the nearest competitor, as the Flames took runner-up
honors, while Hollins University was third with a total score of
673. North Georgia took 10th place overall, finishing at 726
following rounds of 365 and 361.
Catalina
Olarte fired the low round of the afternoon for North Georgia,
finishing with a final round 14-over-par 86, good for 19th place
overall, while Casey Truelove
trimmed five shots off her opening round 94, recording a
17-over-par 89 to sit at 183 overall and in a tie for 41st
place.
Jodie
Borchert's final round 90 was seven shots lower than her
opening round, putting her at 187 for the two-day event and alone
in 45th place overall at 43-over-par for the tournament.
Erica
Breeden finished tied for 49th overall after a final round 98,
while Courtney
Hall rounded out the team with a 96, putting her at 196 for the
tournament and in 55th place for the event.
The Lady Saints will go right back to work next week, traveling to
Mercer University's Eat-A-Peach Collegiate in Macon, Georgia. The
two-round event will start next Sunday, with the final round taking
place on Monday.
