Women's Golf in 10th Place at Eat-A-Peach Collegiate

MACON, GA - The North Georgia women's golf team completed the opening round of the Eat-A-Peach Collegiate hosted by Mercer University on Sunday afternoon at the Oak View Golf and Country Club, recording a 362 to sit in 10th place in the field of 11 teams.

Mercer University is the leader at the midway point of the classic with a 294, while Flagler College (311) is second, Shorter College (312) is third, and Armstrong Atlantic (324) currently sits fourth. North Georgia is 10th overall, clearing 11th place Truett-McConnell by 65 shots.

North Georgia's Catalina Olarte is in the middle of the race for the individual title, recording an opening round 78, including a 37 on the back nine to sit at six-over-par and just seven shots off the lead in a tie for 9th place.

Casey Truelove is second on the team and tied for 43rd place overall after an opening round 89, while Erica Breeden is tied for 50th place, sitting at 24-over-par after a 96 on the 5,751-yard par 72 course.

Jodie Borchert and Courtney Hall rounded out the team following rounds of 99 and 105, putting the duo in 55th and 57th place respectively heading into Monday's final round.

North Georgia will tee it up in the final round of the tournament on Monday morning, playing with Truett-McConnell and Coastal Georgia as the three teams will start on the 10th tee at 8:30 a.m.
