DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia women's golf team took eighth place in the field of nine teams Tuesday afternoon at the Armstrong Atlantic Lady Pirate Invitational, finishing with a final round 371 at the Savannah Quarters Country Club.
UNC Pembroke found themselves tied for the lead heading into Tuesday's final round, but the Lady Braves fired a 310 as a team to take a 15-shot victory over Flagler College. Armstrong finished third, Columbus State took fourth, and South Carolina Beaufort rounded out the top five.
North Georgia held a slim one-stroke lead over Coker College after the opening round, and the Lady held off Cobras down the stretch, firing a 371 to finish at 747 for the two-day event and clear Coker by two shots who rounded out the field at 749.
The Lady Saints will have three weeks off before returning to action on March 28-29, traveling to the Piedmont Spring Invitational at the Orchard Golf & Country Club.
