Women's Golf in 7th Place at Piedmont Spring Invite

CLARKESVILLE, GA – The North Georgia women's golf team pulled out the clubs on Monday afternoon after a three-week layoff and fired a 373 during the opening round of the Piedmont College Spring Invitational at the Orchard Golf & Country Club.

Methodist University leads the field at 312, followed by Young Harris at 327, and Methodist University "B" rounds out the top three at 337. Following North Georgia in 7th place is Reinhardt College (391), Maryville College (393), and Truett-McConnell (401).

In the 10-team field, the Lady Saints put together an opening-round 373 led by a 14-over-par 86 from Catalina Olarte. Erica Breeded followed with a 20-over-par 92, while Casey Truelove tallied a 25-over-par 97.

Jodie Borchert finished a shot behind Truelove with a 98, and Daisy Wright rounded out the team with a 114.

The Lady Saints will go right back to work on Tuesday morning in a shotgun start slated to start at 9:00 a.m. at the Orchard Golf & Country Club.
