Truelove and Breeden Card 89 in Best Ball Format

DAHLONEGA, GA – Marina Alex of Vanderbilt led all players with nine birdies and teammate Lauren Stratton added three of her own to shoot the low round of the day, a twelve-under-par 60, to vault to a three-way tie atop the leaderboard with Elizabeth Brightwell/Portland Rosen from the University of Virginia and Lindsey Solberg/Caroline Powers of Michigan State University after Round two of the 2nd Annual Hooters Women's Collegiate Team Championship at Achasta, By Reynolds.
During the second round best ball format, The Cavalier duo of Brightwell/Rosen recovered from a rough end of their opening round to card an eight-under-par 64. The Spartan tandem of Solberg/Powers birdied three of their last four holes to shoot a seven-under-par 65.
The Arkansas tandem of Emma Lavy/Emily Tubert used two eagles to shoot an eight-under-par 64, moving them into fourth place, while Kristin Coleman/Jennifer Coleman from the University of Colorado rounded out the top five by shooting a five-under-par 67.
North Georgia's Casey Truelove and Erica Breeden carded a 17-over-par 89 bringing their two-day score to 39-over-par giving them sole possession of 54th place. The Lady Saints tee-off their final round tomorrow morning.
In the Division II race, Grand Valley State's Sarah Hoffman/Veronica Ryan shot a three-under-par 69 for the day, but they still find themselves one shot behind the duo of Kirby Baker/Ryanne Haddow from St. Edwards, who shot an even par 72. The DePauw University tandem of Taylor Beaty/Kelly Gaughan shot two-under-par 70 for the Division III low score of the day, but still trail Central College's Sarah Paulson/Ali Miller by six shots.
All 54 teams cap off action on Thursday morning for the final day of the Hooters Collegiate Team Championship with tee times set to begin at 7:30 a.m.
