Lady Saints Hold 26-Stroke Lead at North Georgia Spring Invitational

DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia women's golf team shot an aggregate score of 327 on Monday to hold a commanding lead after the opening round of the 2012 North Georgia Spring Invitational contested at the par-72 Achasta by Reynolds.

The Lady Saints hold a 26 stroke advantage over Young Harris, while Truett-McConnell sits 67 shots off the pace heading into day two of the action.

Junior Catalina Olarte fired a four-over-par 76 to hold a five stroke lead over teammate Abbey Gill. Courtney Moore of Young Harris is in third with Casey Truelove and Erica Breeden rounding out the top five.

Gill fired an opening round 81, while Truelove carded a 12-over-par 84. Breeden continued her strong play with a 14-over-par 86.

LeeAnn Noble is in a tie for 10th after her opening round 96. Morgan Blackwell fired a 103 to hold a share of 12th, while Jodie Borchert fired a 110 to sit in 18th.

The Lady Saints wrap up the 2012 North Georgia Spring Invitational tomorrow, March 13, with a 9:30 shotgun start at Achasta by Reynolds.
