GREENEVILLE, TENN. – The North Georgia women's golf team picked up a ninth place finish at the 15th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Tournament played at the Link Hills Country Club.
The Saints were led by Catalina Olarte, who fired a team-best 148 (+4), which was also good enough for a fourth-place tie. Olarte was named to the 2012 Agnes McAmis Memorial All-Tournament Team for her strong performance, which included a total of five birdies.
Olarte shot well on the par-5's at Link Hills, finishing one-under combined on those holes. Olarte and Casey Truelove each finished with three-over-par's for the par-4 courses as well.
Truelove had the second best score on the team with a 154 (+10) which was good enough for a 18th-place tie, while Abbey Gill was third for North Georgia with a 168 (+24). Gill finished in a tie for 62nd place.
North Georgia finished the 2012 Agnes McAmis Memorial with a team score of 647 (+71), which landed them in ninth place in the 18-team field. The Saints improved 13 strokes in the final round, up 317 from 330 in their first round to move up in the final standings.
Jillian Corum of Tusculum won the tournament with a final score of 141 (-3). The Pioneers also won the tournament as a team with a two-round score of 593 (+17).
Joining Olarte on the All-Tournament Team (pictured below) was the tournament-winner Corum, Kimesha Anthony of Columbus State, Brittany McCown from Lincoln Memorial and Rachel Uremovich of Lander.
The Saints women's golf team will round out their 2012 season with the PBC Championship next Monday and Tuesday as they play at the Callaway Gardens golf course located just outside of Columbus, Georgia, to decide the Peach Belt Conference champion.
