Gill Shoots 76, Tied for 17th to Lead Saints in First Round of Lady Bearcat Invite

HILTON Head, S.C. – Led by Abbey Gill's 76, the North Georgia College & State University women's golf team opened up the Lander Lady Bearcat Invitational at the Old South Golf Links with a 315 team score to leave them eighth after the first day.

Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) leads the 12-team field with a 296 led by overall leader Alexa Osbourn's three-under Par 69 while Lander is second with a 299. SCAD's Alazne Urizar and Sofia Molinaro are both tied for second.

Gill, a sophomore from Edmonton, Alberta, is currently tied for 17th as she carded a 39 on the front nine holes and a 37 for the back nine.

Seniors Catalina Olarte and Casey Truelove both carded 79's to sit in a tie for 30th.

Things will start back up tomorrow as the Saints will look to wrap up their third tournament of the season.
