Women’s Golf Wraps up Fall Campaign with 13th Place Finish in Fall Slam
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The North Georgia College & State University women's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of their 2012-13 campaign with a team stroke count of 663, placing the Saints 13th in the 10th Annual Flagler Fall Slam at the Marsh Creek Golf Course Tuesday.
Barry University took home the team crown with a combined score of 603, 19 strokes ahead of second place and tournament host Flagler College.
Armstrong Atlantic State University's Jenna Birch claimed the individual title with a two-round stroke count of 145, just one stroke ahead of Nancy Vergara of Barry University in second.
Senior Catalina Olarte bounced back from her first day's 82 to post a 77 for a combined stroke count of 159. The two-day score left her in a tie for 25th place.
Freshman Mariana Pelaez finished second for the Saints with a two-day score of 163, placing her in a tie for 42nd.
Sophomore Abbey Gill and junior Casey Truelove rounded out the scoring four North Georgia. Gill finished with a two-round stroke count of 169 in a tie for 62nd while Truelove finished with a 175 in a tie for 76th place. LeeAnn Noble finished just one stroke behind Truelove with a 176.
