Carrilee Hiers Leads Women's Golf Team To Eighth Place Finish At Full Moon BBQ Invitational

CALERA, Alabama – (UNGAthletics.com) – The University of North Georgia women's golf team posted a final round 329 and finished in eighth place out of nine teams at the Full Moon BBQ Invitational hosted by the University of Montevallo.  Transfer Carrilee Hiers registered a final round 75 (85-75—160) which allowed her to finish in a tie for 23rd out of 47 golfers.

Freshman Taylor Allen narrowly missed a top-25 finish after following yesterday's 77 with an 84 (77-84—161, t27th).  Casey Truelove (79-84—163, t32nd) and Anna Higgins (87-86—173, t43rd) rounded out the Nighthawks' scoring. 

Lander University rallied to pass host Montevallo for team honors with a score of 306-304—610 and was anchored by individual medalist Michelle Reyes' even par 71-71—142 over the 5,923, par 71 Timberline Golf Club.

North Georgia returns to action on September 28-29 when the team travels Hilton Head, S.C. to take part in the Lander University Lady Bearcat Invitational.
