Nighthawks Hold On To Finish Runner Up At Lee University Fall Invitational
CLEVELAND, Tennessee – (UNGAthletics.com) – The University of North Georgia women's golf team held its position and earned a runner-up finish at the Lee University Fall Invitation after posting a final round team score of 328. The Nighthawks edged Shorter University by nine strokes to finish in second behind the host Flames.
Casey Truelove earned a top-10 finish with a 79-83—162 which was good for a tie for eighth place out of a field of 47 golfers. Mariana Pelaez carded the Nighthawks' low score of the final round with a six-over par 78 for a 36-hole total of 85-78—163 (t11th). She shared 11th place with teammate Carrilee Hiers after the sophomore posted a 77-86—163.
Freshman Taylor Allen rounded out the final round score card for North Georgia with a 85-81—166 which was good for a tie for 15th.
UNG's two-day score of 326-328—654 marked the team's best 36-hole score of the fall season.
The tournament wraps up North Georgia's fall season with the team set to return to action on February 9-10 at the World Golf Invitational hosted by Flagler at the World Golf Village Slammer & Squire Course in St. Augustine, Fla..
