UNG Women's Golf Team Sits In 13th Place At Midway Point Of World Golf Invitational
SAINT AUGUSTINE, Florida – (UNGAthletics.com) – The University of North Georgia women's golf team kicked off the 2014 spring semester with an opening round 339 at the World Golf Invitational hosted by Flagler College at the Slammer & Squire Golf Course. The Nighthawks stand in 13th place out of 17 competing schools at the 36-hole event's halfway point.
Lynn University leads by 16 strokes over second place Saint Leo after an opening round 294.
North Georgia was led by Carrilee Hiers who carded an 80. Casey Truelove added an 83 for the Nighthawks while Mariana Pelaez and Aly Hicks rounded out the team score with an 85 and 91 respectively.
UNG trails Mount Olive by seven strokes and stands 10 strokes out of 10th place.
The final round will begin Monday morning on the par 72, 6,010 yard course.
