#Nighthawks Sit A Single Shot Out Of Seventh Place After Opening Day At TSYS Collegiate Classic

COLUMBUS, Georgia – (UNGAthletics.com) – The University of North Georgia women's golf team sits in eighth place out of nine teams after an opening day of 36 holes at the TSYS Collegiate Classic hosted by Columbus State University at the Country Club of Columbus.  The Nighthawks carded scores of 348-341—689.

Lander lead the event 324-303—627 and is three strokes clear of fellow Peach Belt Conference foe Montevallo (324-306—630) and Lee University (311-319—630).  Lee's Courtney Shelton leads the event individually with a 78-71—149 (+5).

Anna Higgins was North Georgia's low scorer with an 84-87—171 and is in a tie for 26th in the 45-player field.  Casey Truelove added an 88-84—172 (t29th).  Carrilee Hiers (86-87—173) and Taylor Allen (90-83---173) are tied for 32nd.

The Nighthawks trail King University by a single stroke and are 13 strokes ahead of ninth-place Tusculum's 702. 

North Georgia will tee off in the event's final round on Tuesday at 9:25 AM.
