Four Lady Saints Named All-Conference
EVANS, GA - North Georgia's Danielle Brannan and
Kelly Martin were named Peach Belt First-Team All-Conference
announced this afternoon at a ceremony in Evans, Georgia, the site
of the PBC Tournament final four. Lauren Schenk and Casey Smith
were named Second-Team All-PBC as well at the event.
Kelly Martin anchored the midfield for the Lady Saints in the
air and on the ground. The transfer sophomore saw action in 16
games, logging 1275 minutes and tallying two goals and two assists.
She attempted 25 shots, including nine shots on goal.
Danielle Brannan played in all 17 games for the Lady Saints in
2008, starting 13 as a true freshman. She scored four goals and
tallied four assists for 12 total points. She logged over 1000
minutes and recorded two game-winning goals.
Lauren Schenk, a 2007 All-PBC selection, tallied 22 points for
the Lady Saints in 2008. She recording nine goals and four assists
on the season. She had one game-winning goal and was a perfect 1-1
in Penalty kicks. Schenk played and started in 16 games, logging
1141 minutes. She recorded 29 shots, including 21 shots on
goal.
Casey Smith, a 2007 All-Southeast Region selection was the only
player in the Peach Belt Conference to be named PBC Offensive and
Defensive player of the week during 2008. She tallied four goals
and eight assists on the season. Her four goals is a career best as
she recorded a hat trick in the first game of the season. Smith
played and started all 17 games for the Lady Saints, tallying one
game-winning goal.
